Sinkholes, old railroads and geocaching

This past Saturday we ventured up near Ash Fork, Az with some of the Expedition Portal crew for some driving, hiking and hiding our first geocache ever! We checked out these crazy giant sinkholes, several hundred feet deep. The we headed down a narrow road which was once an old railroad track to find the old tunnel and guard shack from WWII. Supposedly there was an old anti-aircraft gun up there somewhere but we never did see it. Josh did pick up a souvenir in the form of a rusty old railroad tie. We hid our first geocache, which someone already went to find!

Vegas Baby!

The weekend of the 5th of April, Heidi and Rhonda traveled to Las Vegas! Frankly, I can't believe I did this, because normally I hate Vegas, and I hate to fly even more! But Rhonda just turned 28 and had never been there before so I thought it would be fun...and it was! It was one of the best times I've had there for sure. I also learned a new Vegas strategy: Bloody Mary's at the Peppermill Lounge for breakfast, and spend the rest of the day with penny slots and the 2 foot frozen drinks/margaritas!

First Post!

Hi to everyone! We have decided to set up this blog for all of our friends and family to keep track of our adventures. Life gets pretty busy, and it can be hard to catch up with people, especially when you don't live in the same city (or even if you do!), so hopefully this will give us all a chance to check in with each other even if its at 3am.
